The Bouvier des Flandres originated in the area between France and the Netherlands. Originally used by merchants, farmers and cattlemen, the Bouvier made its name by herding cattle and other livestock. During both World Wars, they proved to be very useful, hunting for wounded soldiers and acting as couriers.
