Bully sticks. Lamb lung. Salmon skins. I buy all of these dog treats in bulk, which means they don’t come in resealable bags that store easily in the pantry. Until recently, I just left them in the shopping bag and fished around inside whenever I needed to pull treats for my pups, Spot and Dolly.

You can personalize this hand-made piece of pottery with your dog’s name or another label of your choosing, such as “Treats” or “Cookies.” Because artisans make this jar, it takes six weeks for delivery — but will most certainly be worth the wait.

5. Toile at Harry Barker

I already have these pretty toile tins picked out for a friend with a French country kitchen. The company uses recycled steel, making them eco-friendly as well.

Tips for Purchasing a Dog Treat Container

• Ensure it contains only nontoxic, food-safe materials.
• Opt for an airtight lid if possible; if you fall for one that doesn’t have such a lid, keep treats in a bag, or bags, inside the container.
• Choose a sturdy tin instead of a breakable jar if you have small children on treat duty.
