On the heels of the massive Natura dog food recall, affecting the brands Innova, EVO, California Natural, Healthwaise, Karma, and Mother Nature, comes another recall because of salmonella fears.

Last week, the Robert Abady Co. of Poughkeepsie, New York, announced it is voluntarily recalling two of its frozen dog food products due to contamination with Salmonella.

According to the company, the decision to recall was made after a positive salmonella test by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, but there have been no reports of pet or human illness reported to date.

The affected products are:

  • Abady Frozen High Stress/High Performance Dog Food 3 lbs.
  • Abady Frozen Growth Formula for Puppies of the Large & Giant Breed 3 lbs.

The affected dog foods were distributed in retail stores and kennels in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.

Accoridng to Dog Food Advisor, the affected dog foods were packaged in uncoded frozen three-pound chubs.

Customers can contact the company at 845-473-1900 or 877-99ABADY with any questions.
