In honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog month and in collaboration with Petfinder, The All American Rejects’ guitarist Nick Wheeler shares a video of what he and his dog — a rescued Boston Terrier mix named Dexter — do on a day off from touring.
Complete with a voiceover from a mildly ornery Dexter, the clip shows the little dog getting a “spa day” while on a break in Richmond, VA. While a spa day might mean a relaxing time lounging and bathing for us, for Dexter, a bath is not quite “relaxing.” The adorable pup with an underbite disapproves greatly of the “hippie man” soap Nick uses, complaining that it will make him “smell like Burning Man.” Dexter! It’s all-organic soap! It’s for your own good! To help keep your coat shiny and healthy and free of yucky chemicals!
Dexter puts up some pretty solid resistance to getting into the tub, but eventually ends up wet.
However, Dexter concedes that the all-over body massage feels “nice,” and that maybe a bath isn’t so bad after all when you get to cuddle up in a warm towel.
Doesn’t Dexter look so pretty and so clean?
Although if we were Nick we’d sleep with one eye open — Dexter threatens to pee in his bed as revenge!
