We normally cover only news about dogs, but Lamo is a sheep who thinks he’s a dog, so we made an exception.

Lamo wouldn’t have it any other way.

The little lamb arrived at Rockfield Animal Rescue in Wentnor, England, after being run over by a car, according to the Telegraph. Owner Jennifer Jones fed him milk and raised him with her other dogs, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Wallace), a Jack Russell (Judy), and a Labrador (Poppy).

Now Lamo think he’s one of them. He fetches sticks, tries to bark, wears a collar and a leash, and goes for walks.

“He really is wonderful, he follows us around everywhere and is always under our feet,” she says. “He doesn’t care about the other sheep, he prefers humans. He’s always trying to get our attention and is constantly getting up to mischief.”

How else does Lamo act like a dog? If you open the door to your car, he’ll hop in.

“He loves going for a ride,” Jones told Shropshire Star. “He would jump in with anyone, so we have to be careful as he has been known to get in other people’s cars, too.”

Lamo also likes to swim. When the other dogs jump in the pond, Lamo is right behind them.

“He is just adorable,” says Jones.

Lamo caused a bit of a stir a while ago, when he and one of the handlers went for a walk into town. Just a lamb on a leash in a metropolitan area, trotting down the sidewalk. No big thing.

Shoppers, however, were stunned. The next day, this photo appeared on social networking sites — as well as the front page of the Shropshire Star.

“There is never a quiet minute with Lamo,” says Jones. “He loves knocking wheelbarrows over if you are trying to carry one. It’s his way of telling you he wants to be patted.”

Vet David Howell explained to the Telegraph that sheep are capable of learned behavior, and they’re more intelligent than people think.

“Clearly, Lamo prefers life as a dog,” he says.
