Petey, a 20-pound dog who chased some varmints through a series of deep rabbit holes in his neighbor’s yard in Los Angeles, probably never thought that doing so would get him planted six feet underground for part of the night.
He should have read The Dog Blog a couple of days ago, when he would have found out about Emma, the long-haired Doxie who was trapped four feet underground for 2.5 days after pursuing a similar quarry in Wisconsin.
Check out the below photo from Petey’s rescue, and note its similarity to Emma’s photo, below it. If you have a small, hot-diggedy dog, be sure to these photos to him — and perhaps have a little chat — before he goes out for his next romp.
Dogs will be dogs, and they’re very lucky to have humans like these who are more than willing come get them out of their little predicaments!
