If you find yourself in Miami tomorrow — Saturday, December 3 — check out ART ZOO, a highlight of Art Week with special appeal for Dogsters.
This unique event will feature an animal-themed art exhibition at a swanky outdoor venue, including sculptures, paintings, and performancepieces created by established and emerging artists.
One of the artists who is especially excited to participate is Bettina Werner, aka the Salt Queen, renowned for her uniquely beautiful paintings created with a texturized, colorized salt technique she invented in the 1980s.
“The way dogs love us is probably beyond our understanding, a love few humans are ever able to return in equal proportions,” says Bettina, whois represented at ART ZOO bya painting (above) from her “101 Dalmatian Paintings” series. These artworks — delightfully abstract portrayals of a Dalmatian‘s spots — were created in tribute to her beloved dog Tibino(read more aboutBettina and Tibino here).
Produced and curated by Hope Gainer, ART ZOO also promises elegant refreshments plus a silent auction, “Best Artsy Pet Costume” contest, and meet-and-greets with adorable adoptable dogs.
