Dear Bob,

Love at first sight, no. Love at first sniff, YES!

You can’t even imagine how many times I fall in love a day. This city is full of smells you humans just don’t appreciate. That telephone pole out there — WOWSA!! It’s covered in years’ worth of caked-on scents that send my heart a-flutter each time.

And since you brought it up, this is the perfect time for me to tell all you humans to slow down! Let your dogs have a moment to smell “the roses,” i.e. the nasty spot on the sidewalk, and enjoy the little things in life. We put up with your endless cellphone chitterchatter and that loud obnoxious TV box filled with gaudy housewives. Give us a second to indulge in life’s disgusting pleasures.
