We’ve all been there, at the dog park, staring at the saggy chain-link fence, the torn-up grass, the drab concrete bench, the overflowing trash receptacle. It doesn’t have to be this way, we think. Why can’t this place be fun.
Beneful hears you. [Editor’s Note: Please note that this is NOT a sponsored post. We have always been fans of this recurring campaign of theirs.] For the past four years, the dog food maker has been holding its Dream Dog Park contest, which asks the public for dream dog park designs, picks a winner, and then donates $500,000 to its construction in the winner’s community.
This year’s winner is Linda Nichols of Prescott, Arizona, who beat out thousands of others. She came up with a unique fire-station theme to renovate the off-leash dog park at Willow Creek, and her community is thrilled.
“The City of Prescott is honored it will be the home of the next Beneful Dream Dog Park,” says City of Prescott Mayor Marlin Kuykendall. “On behalf of all of our four-legged friends and their owners, we are grateful to Beneful for this incredible $500,000 renovation and to Linda Nichols for bringing the opportunity to our community through her contest entry.”
Linda’s design, of course, is going to get plenty of expert retooling from people in the business. Heading the build team is the host of the DIY Network show Desperate Landscapes, Jason Cameron, and national pet expert (and Catster contributor) Arden Moore.
