Benny Corgipants Is Missing Some of His Nose, But He’s Got It Where It Counts

He was rescued from a puppy mill, and an untreated injury left him missing part of his nose and lip. He's still totally adorable.

Corgis are like, the dog breed of the Internet. Those short little legs — helpful in making sure they don’t get their brains knocked out by cows angry at them for trying to herd them — are part of what makes them so endearing. Unfortunately, the feature that makes them good at their jobs and irresistibly adorable is also what’s made them so popular and, therefore, subject to irresponsible breeding. Yup, I’m talking about puppy mills.

Benny Corgipants (“But Liz!” you say, “Corgis don’t wear pants!” But they do — they wear Corgipants.) was rescued from a puppy mill by the Corgi Connection of Kansas. He had been attacked as a puppy or gotten into some sort of fight and due to a resulting injury left untreated is now missing part of his nose and lip.

But that’s okay! Because Corgis are so adorable that even with a little bit of his face gone, Benny still possesses the Corgi powers of melting you into a squealing puddle. What? You don’t believe me? Okay, tough kid, let’s see if you can resist this!

Yeah, didn’t think so. Clean up on Aisle Cute.

Benny now lives with his forever home with a senior Corgi friend and a pair of cats.

But okay, all cuteness aside — Benny Corgipants has an important message to share and that’s Don’t buy puppies from pet shops! All dogs deserve a good home, but if we can vanquish the demand for dogs, then puppy mills will have no reason to continue to operate.
