The naughty dog with his head stuck in a garbage can lid — it never gets old now, does it? The best is when Rover tries to play it off like it ain’t no thang, like, “What? Oh this little thing? It’s the latest in dog fashion — it’s very avant garde, very retro ’60s space program.” Yeah right, Fido.
In this video, a Golden Retriever tries to stick the crime on his Bulldog buddy, who almost cracks under his parents’ interrogation. The Goldie, however, is no criminal mastermind, as the evidence clearly points to him.
Unless! The Bulldog is playing us all for fools and has tricked the Retriever into donning the trash bin lid.
“Come on! Everyone’s doing it!” the Bulldog might have said, “Trust me! Lady Gaga is going to wear this in her next video!”
To which the Retriever might have replied, “Oh, I don’t know. This looks an awful lot like a Cone of Shame.”
But you know Golden Retrievers are extreme people pleasers, not to mention very fashion forward, so maybe our poor hapless canine got pinned as a patsy.
Or maybe he’s just a silly dog weak to the divine aromas of rotting food. We know, we know … we buy our dogs nice, organic, expensive kibble, and they insist on eating out of the trash.
It’s okay, we still love you, dogs.
