The Puget Sound, in Washington state, is in trouble. It’s an environmental mess, and there’s a growing movement to reverse this downward spiral. One way things can get a little better, apparently, is if people scoop their dogs’ poop. (This isn’t the big reason behind the sound’s problems, but every bit helps.) With this in mind, the people at Puget Sound Starts Here have put out an extremely appealing and ridiculously catchy video about scooping the poop.
The video, Dog Doogity, featuring talented rock and soul artist Martin Luther, is upbeat and contagious. It’s not pedantic, not serious, and it really gets the message across.
The song is a spoof of Blackstreet’s No Diggity, which was popular in the mid 1990s. I think Dog Doogity will resonate with a great many Dogsters, who feel strongly about scooping the poop. And it’s pretty hilarious to hear Martin Luther singing about the dog leaving a “doodie.”
If you’re really into it, you can even learn the Dog Doogity Poop Pickup Dance. (Just hang onto that bag when you twirl it!) I’d kind of like to get everyone at Dogster World HQ in San Francisco to do it as a video response, but that’s probably not going to happen. Check out the “tutorial” below.
