I love vacations. It doesn’t matter if I get to my destination by plane, train, or automobile. It’s always fun to drop fun postcards to friends back home and then secretly hope they’re a little jealous of all the fun I’m having.
Conversely, I feel absolutely giddy when I open my mailbox and find a postcard greeting from a faraway place. Sure, we all keep up with our friends’ vacay pics and updates via Facebook, but there’s still something special about the postcard. In a world where letter-writing has practically become obsolete, the magical postcard has somehow remained relevant. It’s proof you were actually where you said you were going, even though you’ve been spamming Facebook news feeds with all sorts of photographic evidence. A postcard is tangible and I love seeing someone’s handwriting. There’s an intimacy there that isn’t captured via electronic communication.
What if your dog went on vacation without you? You know, to kick back and relax on the beach, and maybe catch up with friends or relatives? Hey, dogs need breaks, too. Heaven knows, they don’t get enough down time, right? So, let’s say your dog has jet-setted away on a fantastic vacation and, taking a break from sunbathing and eating fancy fare, decides to drop you a postcard. What would it say? Hmmm …
What would your dog write on a vacation postcard? Tell us in the comments!
