Every Thursday, Fab.com refreshes its pets discount shop, and tempts me with witty dog-themed items. Last Thursday was no exception when I came across this collaboration between Dog Is Good and One Bella Casa that puts pop art dog ladies on plush throwpillows. The only thing that stopped me from pulling out my credit card was the memory of my boyfriend’s face after I brought home this Poodle pillow from Target last week.
“What is wrong with you?” said he, “They put a dog on it and you instantly want to buy it!” He gestured wildly at our shared shelving area and I counted two ceramic Greyhound bookends, a stately bronze sighthound and a hand-drawn silhouette of our Italian Grey, Mr. Moxie. Maybe he was onto something. (Do you think he’s overreacting here? Let me know.) I may or may not have neglected to tell him about the dog-eared pillowcases I’d recently received in the mail for his own sanity.
The Poodle pillow went back to Target the following weekend, and I’m banned from buying any other dog-themed home accessories until further notice. BUT the good news is that you’re not, and the Dog Is Good pillow line is on sale at $31 instead of $80 through this Thursday.
The pop prints also appear on a series of magnets ($9.99 for three) if you’re not ready to show your dog lady stripes on your sofa. Baby steps.
