Fashion designer John Bartlett is one of those people whose effortless, sexystyle shines even on an early-morning dog walk. He rocks trousers and flip flops like no other guy I know!So whenJohn designs a garment or an outfit, you can beconfident you’ll look good wearing it.

John is also a major dog lover. Dogs respond very positively to his gentle kindness. In fact, John has beenpaying visits my dog Magnus, who hastrust issues with men. Thanks to the quality time he’s spent withgentle John, Magnus is slowly coming out of his shell andmaking friends with more and moreguys.

John is very active on behalf of numerous animal welfare organizations, including North Shore Animal League America andAnimal Care and Control of New York City. When he opened his own store in New York City,John took as his logo a silhouette image of hisbeloved tripod mutt Tiny Tim, adopted from North Shore in 2003. AtJohn’s store,Tim’s handsome image appears on everything from T-shirts to underwear to flip flops. Not surprisingly, John’s designs are a big hit with style-conscious dog lovers.

Together, John and Tim cut quite the dashing figure in the fashion world and beyond. Sadly, Tim passed away a few months ago. But Tim’s legend lives on in every John Bartlett design at the store. And now, the K9style icon will be playing to a bigger audience of fashion hounds – on two and four legs.

Last night at New York’s Ace Hotel, John unleashed his new collection for the Bon-Ton Stores: John Bartlett Consensus (see photo above).

Unleashed is the right word: This is a brand-new breed ofmenswear – the first in fashion history to incorporate coordinated collars and leashes for man’s best friend!

The fashion-forward collection of sportswear and furnishings for career and casual lifestyles will be available atall Bon-Ton stores starting in August. And the logo appearing on every label (and on T-shirts too)is the handsome head of Tiny Tim, left.

As you can seein the photograph, the themes of the collection are ones that have always influenced John: University prep, rugged military, and refined lumberjack. There are Ivy League-style argyle sweaters, cargo pants, andplaid shirts, all with a modern, sexy edge. The piece de resistance? A great-looking, ruggedbomber jacket made of vegan leather.

These clothes are so hip and handsome, they are bound to give new meaning to the term “boyfriend sweater.” In fact, gals all over America will doubtless be pinching items from this collection out of their boyfriends’ closets, andstepping out inthem!

I’m betweenboyfriends, but I am seriously consideringpurchasing the black/white herringbone tweed military blazer and having it altered to fit my figure. I love the color orange, and throughout the John Bartlett Consensus collection, there are plenty of orange accents, playing smartly off olive green. Orangehappens to be John’s favorite color. And coincidentally, orange is also the official color ofanimal welfare, just as pink is the color of breast cancer awareness.

Dogsters, this is major stylescoop! Are you excited to do your fall shopping? Look for these handsome human clothes and dog accessories at Bon-Ton stores in August. (To locate one, go here.)

Now,guys all over America can look effortlessly handsome, just likeJohn Bartlett – even while out walking the dog first thing in the morning.
