Bowie the dog is a talented Terrier who once built a rocket ship out of recycling.
In this charming short film, Bowie follows in the pawsteps of other dogs who have bravely gone where no canine has gone before, and launches a rocket into our imaginations. That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for dogs.
With a combination of clever editing and catching just the right moments of Bowie’s expressive face, the video is an endearing narrative that takes us back to the days of our childhood when a cardboard box was a world of possibilities.
Now Bowie is asking for us to vote for him for a short-film contest created by Virgin Media of Virgin America — and of, yes, Boo fame. Below is Bowie’s plea to vote for him. In the video, Bowie recounts his past acting stints and reveals that he was this close to playing second banana to The Artist’s Uggie (and since Uggie is now retired, there’s a shot for Bowie should there ever be a sequel).
Even more so than for their human counterparts, the acting business is truly a dog-eat-dog world, where a small circle of pups vie for starring roles (they just don’t write much for dogs these days).
So what do you think? Does Bowie have the chops for it?
