It doesn’t matter how big or how old you are — sometimes we all get a little scared. We can’t imagine how much this big, shaggy Saint Bernard weighs, but it must be 75 pounds, at least. The big dog climbed up the stairs to his Polish family’s attic, but, like a cat in a tree, getting back down proved a bit challenging.
Despite verbal and physical coaxing, the big dog won’t budge. Not even a delicious piece of human food can pry the dog from his spot. The scene results in gentle laughter from the dog’s onlookers, who sympathize with his plight — it does look pretty scary from the top of those stairs! Nor do they seem optimized for a dog’s descent. We bet that the big fellow wasn’t even supposed to be up there, but snuck up the stairs to be with his humans and now can’t get back down. Why is going down always the scarier part?
The big dog finally has to be carried down the stairs in the loving arms of his very patient human. With his front paws draped over the man’s shoulders, the Saint Bernard looks like a baby. We’re glad he makes it down all right.
So the next time you get scared, don’t be worried or ashamed — even big dogs get spooked. Hopefully someone can hold your hand like someone holds this Saint Bernard.
