Someone call out the Shepherd dogs, because we think we’re joining the herd. Cindy D.’s Slumbering Herd, that is.
According to her website, Cindy doesn’t make a living as an artist. In fact, Cindy had abandoned art for 20 years. In March 2011, however, the desire to draw called to her, and she dusted off her drawing table, and the dust has not had a chance to settle on it since.
Working primarily in pen and ink, Cindy’s style is wild and whimsical, evoking ’60s illustrations with a slight touch of something psychedelic. While Cindy depicts animals we know in the real world, she also goes on flights of fancy, creating her own fantastic creatures. Her can see her imagination at work in the patterns and colors that Cindy adorns her creatures with.
We really like her dog drawings — especially this steampunk Collie. Each of her drawings is accompanied by a story about the creatures depicted within. According to Cindy, Lars here doesn’t say much, so if you’d like to know about the green fur he wears about his shoulders, you might be out of luck!
