Whether it’s to protect our dogs from the cold or the scorching sidewalks of summer, sometimes little doggie booties are necessary, just as shoes are necessary to keep our feet safe while we’re out and about.
But have you tried explaining to a dog why he shouldn’t chew his stitches or why he has to take some icky-tasting medicine or why he shouldn’t eat out of the garbage? Yeah, there’s no reasoning with dogs, as much as we wish we could just sit them down and explain the dangers of trying to befriend the cat. Which is why, even when shoes are for their own good, these dogs are a little less than pleased with their footwear.
It’s really just a matter of the dogs acclimating to the boots, but for a pup who’s never sported shoes before, the results are hilarious. With all the new confusing sensations, the dogs tap-dance and kick and handstand and high-step.
While most of the dogs in the video endure the humiliation, trusting that their humans have a higher plan for them, the Shiba Inu at 1:03 gives us a look that says, “Laugh all you like, but I’ve got my eye on a pair of your shoes and a taste for fine Italian leather.”
