Since launching the Dogster forums in May of this year there have been just about 100,000 postings! That is phenomenal. We can’t believe how much information and fun is being shared there. For the members that like communicating with others, or just reading up on others advice they’ve become as much of a daily routine as refilling the kibble bowl. What’s even more phenomenal is that even though a topic can get over heated once in a while, I can’t think of another pet forums with SO MANY active users that is as friendly and fun as those right here.

To help us out with the forum’s popularity, we have just launched our moderator program and our first group of volunteer moderators will be helping keep everyone’s questions answered and fur unruffled. Moderators will be just like everyone else, free to bark it up on any topic, but they’ll also be helping to keep threads in the right place, offer answers, help new doggies, uphold the guidelines of the community and nipping in the bud any unfriendly behaviors. These doggies will display a moderator moniker and will work directly with us to keep the fun and helpfulness levels high and divert anything that is less than that.

We’re really excited about this and we hope those of you that play in the forums will warmly welcome them in their new roles. We’re sure you won’t be surprised at who the first group is as they have consistently been helpful and supportive, never get into any petty snapping and are always trying to calm the ruffled fur the rare time hackles get raised.

If moderating is of interest to you, we’re not able to accept new requests now (though we’re grateful for the offers!) If you would like to be considered as a moderator, the best way to prove your interest is to be helpful and supportive in the forums offering helping hands and keeping everything nice and safe for any doggie to have a good time. Good behavior never goes unrecognized to us!

Three cheers to our new moderators, three cheers to everyone in the forums, three cheers to everyone reading this Site Updates and three cheers to everyone using the sites. Power to the paws!
