There’s nothing like being able to work at home with your dog at your side, or being lucky enough to bring your dog to the office. The companionship and feeling of calmness you can experience with your dog curled up at your feet is second to none.

That is, unless your dog likes to do more than curl up quietly at your feet. My fun and talented colleague, Janet McCulley, “chief trendologist” of the Animal Planet blog, The Daily Treat, has put together a very entertaining slide show that features dogs who take a more paws-on role in their humans’ work. Why, here she is now to set up!

A few weeks ago I posted this photo of my crazy dog Zazou, demonstrating what he does when anyone in my household gets on the computer. It is not enough for him to nose around or paw at us from the floor. He must raise himself to eye level so that he can see exactly what we are working on. I know it is totally wrong to allow him to do this, but we spend long hours on the computer sometimes and guilt gets the best of us.

Based upon feedback and hysterical photo submissions, I can see that I am not the only one with a class five clinger when working on the computer. Check out the slideshow below of photos submitted from Daily Treat readers to see some of the creative ways our pets get our attention and “assist” us with our work!
