Attention, game-show hounds: A new daily, half-hour show will be unleashed this fall, and the search is on now for the show’s official canine mascot. Yes, you heard that right.

Let’s Ask America will be hosted by Kevin Pereira (of Attack of the Show fame) and promises to be a new breed of game show. Unlike other shows, this one links contestants digitally from the comfort of their own homes to answer questions about pop culture and current events via web chat. Basically, it’s designed for couch hounds, letting you win cash without so much as giving up your snug spot on the sofa.

Spots on the sofa — must be how the light bulb went off in the producers’ heads. Hmmm, dog mascot … let’s get one!

Let’s Ask America launches September 17, but the search for a dog mascot runs through Friday, July 27. Enter here by providing a description of your couch hound, inluding name, gender, breed, and date of birth, plus a photo, a short video (no longer than 30 seconds), and a written paragraph explaining why your dog deserves to be the show’s mascot.

The canine finalists will be judged by a panel of Let’s Ask America producers. The winner will be featured on the show, and will receive a trip to the Let’s Ask America set in Los Angeles, where he or she will model for a professional photo shoot and video session.

May the best dog win!
