I never got Jake pet insurance. When he was younger the payments didn’t seem worth the potential paybacks. And now that he’s an older guy, because most insurance won’t cover anything pre-existing or remotely related. I have friends who swear by pet insurance, and others who swear at it. I’ve seen a similar variety of comments whenever I run any posts about pet insurance on Dogster.
So when Michael Bracy, of FindTheBest, sent me a handy pet insurance comparison tool to help people evaluate insurance, I asked him to write a little something about it. His company provides reliable information, free of any hidden marketing schemes, so consumers can make faster and more informed decisions. If you’re thinking about pet insurance, it’s worth checking out.
Pet insurance: Is It For You?
By Michael Bracy
Because pet insurance is a relatively new development, many people are still hesitant when it comes to purchasing a policy. Pet insurance is basically the same thing as people insurance. You pay a monthly premium and an out of pocket deductible per visit, in return for medical coverage for an array of medical procedures. The overall principal is simple, the healthy pets who spend their time safely lounging around the house help pay for the more adventurous daredevils. The big question for most people is; do the benefits exceed the costs?
FindTheBest has created an innovative new tool designed to help pet owners answer this question effectively. Instead of traveling from site to site looking for credible information, you can now research the premier pet insurance companies in one convenient location. Individuals can find and compare pet insurance by its better business bureau rating, average monthly premium, coverage, sample quote options and more! Once you have narrowed down your possible list of options, use the side-by-side comparison view to help visualize what factors differentiate each policy. For those of you currently looking to purchase pet insurance, check out this slideshow of the top 10 expert rated pet insurers.
Here’s a miniature example of what you can find on the site.
Dogsters, Maria here again! What have your experiences been with pet insurance? Has it been a huge help, a ripoff, or something in between?

You REALLY should update this. I have at least 40 friends with dogs. About half have pet insurance. Another 10 are in the process of considering. I spent a lot of time going thru recommendations from 3 vets I know and I came up with Nationwide being the best for the money, but it may not be right for everyone. This is more and more important with our DOGS living longer lives – PLEASE try to get an epert to not just update this – but make it an annual thing to be updated.
THANKS !!!!!
