On Sep. 2 2006, at the Marion Grant County Humane Society shelter, 2768 W. Avon Ave, Marion, Indiana. A human was taken in to the shelter. Cheryl Walker’s family surrendered her to the shelter giving up all there rights to her. Cheryl is now confined to a 4’x 7′ kennel. This was Cheryl idea to bring attention to the urgent need to raise money to build a new animal shelter; she will also bring awareness to the many animals at the shelter hoping to find each one of them a home.

She will attempt to experience and document the animals from moment of surrender through each day. Cheryl intends to remain there continuously through the month of September. It will take approximately 3 million dollars to build a new shelter. If anyone would like to adopt Cheryl (to send her home to her family only) the fee is 3 million. To make a donation please stop into see Cheryl or mail them to: PO Box 1511, Marion, In. 46952

You can also see her on MySpace or the Marion Grant County Humane Society site.
