In what may come as no surprise to those who use Facebook and Twitter to talk about favorite animal (dog!) stories, a cool new infographic by Craigslist founder Craig Newmarks nonprofit craigconnects shows that top-funded animal causes trump other nonprofit categories in the world of social networking.

It looks like animal orgs do the most talking by far. There’s a lot to woof about. (Granted: PETA is on the animal list, and that could really skew social outreach data, since they’re all about using media and social media.)

The folks at Dogster World HQ sent me this infographic, and I know we have a big social media presence. I wonder if there’s just something about animals that makes people more apt to speak out for them. Is it because they can’t speak for themselves? What do you think, Dogsters?
