John Davies may have thought the only bite he would get from trying to steal a $4,000 bronze statue was from the police dog who helped nab him. The dog, a German shepherd named Zak, bit Davies’ buttocks as the man tried to flee the English park where he was caught red-handed. (Davies admitted the attempted thievery nd was sentenced to nine months in jail.)
But perhaps a more embarrassing bite came from Judge Julian Lambert when he learned what the dog had done.
Good I hope it hurt. Well done, Zak,” the Mirror reports the barrister said in a court full of people.
According to an onlooker, Everyone was in stitches you could barely hear what the barrister was saying. It was the way he said it with a roar of approval.
Zak is 8, and it was his last bite on the street before retirement, according to his handler.
But I have a feeling it’s not Judge Lambert’s last bite on the bench. 🙂
