The end of the season is upon us, ushering in the crisp coolness of autumn, and we here at Dogster can finally retire the phrase “dog days of summer” until next year, when we’ll pull it out of its box and dust it off like so many tangled Christmas lights (we’re required, as a dog site, to use the phrase annually at least ten times).
With the heat of the summer, it’s easy for some critters to get swept up in a little romantic fling. Nothing quite sparks the flames of love like a day at the lake and a giggling audience — which is exactly what happened to a Labrador named Sasha and a handsome carp she met. It was love at first sniff (since neither dogs nor fish can see very well) consummated by synchronized swimming and a make-out session on the shore recalling From Here to Eternity.
Though we admit their summer romance is a little awkward (like a fish out of water), it was only a fling, and you know what they say: “Summer lovin’, happened so fast.” Like one minute and 52 seconds fast, which is exactly how long you will laugh along with this endearing video of a dog and a fish transcending species barriers and showing us that love is at times — literally — blind.
