Laura Bifano is an artist and an illustrator whose work has appeared in Modern Dog Magazine. Her art is rich and colorful, and her more iconic pieces depict animals as polygonal entities set in more realistically conveyed settings. It’s a striking juxtaposition of digital versus analog, rendered according to classical painting techniques. We love it.

This is just one such dog, which originally accompanied Modern Dog’s article “Brain Food for Dogs.” We adore the science fiction twist on our favorite four-legged creature, elevating the dog to something fascinating and otherworldly.

In yet another brain-centric article, “Protect Your Dog’s Mind From the Effects of Aging,” Bifano created a great piece of a rather clever-looking canine working out some foggy equations. The spectacles, lab coat, and clipboard are a nice touch!

For an article about dogs and grief, Bifano set out to create, as she put it, “the most pathetic-looking creature possible,” and we think she succeeded. It’s no mystery what this dog is thinking!
