Rock-star Moby does not shy away from letting his personal beliefs be made very well known — the animal-rights vegan activist has been speaking for the animals for decades. In his latest video, however, we see a softer side of the musician.
We see him snuggling with dogs.
A video for a song off his latest album, Innocents, shows Moby palling around with a batch of fine-looking canines (and some cats!), all of them adoptable from the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in Los Angeles. He kisses the dogs, the dogs kiss back. He nuzzles, they snuggle. All rock stars should make videos of themselves goofing off with dogs.
The video, called Almost Home, is available on YouTube. Moby explains the creation of the video on the site:
a few weeks ago i went up to best friends pet adoption and spay & neuter center, an l.a city location of best friends animal society and made a short lyric video for ‘almost home’.
The video cost, roughly, $0, and it features a whole bunch of the dogs and cats who are available for adoption:http://bestfriends.org/AdoptLA
It’s always a good time to adopt an animal from a shelter, but it seems like an especially good time to adopt an animal, as it’s holiday / channukah / kwanzaa / saturnalia / festivus / etc:
So:
– i hope you like the video, and
– i hope you’re able to provide a home for a dog or cat (or gerbil or snake or any other shelter animal) this season.
thanks,
moby

Marc Peralta, executive director of Best Friends Animal Society, Los Angeles, commented on the exposure that Almost Home provides for the 400 dogs and cats currently awaiting adoption at the center.
“The sad truth is that more than 9,000 dogs and cats are killed every day in U.S. shelters simply because they have no safe place to call home,” he said. “By showcasing shelter pets to such a vast national and international audience, Moby is an amazing voice for these wonderful dogs and cats. He beautifully illustrates how, as a community of animal lovers, we can work together to save them all.”
