I’d like you to meet Ottis. He’s a senior Boston Terrier on a mission to improve the lives of dogs around him. Along with his human friend, Ottis helps foster other dogs, working with them until they find their forever homes. But this is no ordinary foster situation: The foster team takes on particularly challenging dogs who may have been deemed un-adoptable, transforming them into loving companions.
But that’s not all! Ottis is also a therapy dog for the Seattle Humane Society, visiting folks in nursing homes, providing joy and entertainment.
With his Facebook page, Ottis hopes to educate and advocate for adoption and fostering — including dogs who would normally not receive a second chance. Ottis and his human friend have taken in dogs ranging from highly reactive dogs to puppy mill survivors, nurturing their better spirits with compassion and patience. Ottis demonstrates how we are all capable of change … all it takes is someone to believe in us.
You can check out more photos of Ottis at his Facebook page, as well as watch the progress of the animals they foster as they go from scared and insecure to confident, well-mannered companion animals. Don’t forget to tell him that Dogster sent you!
