There are so many stylish ways for fashion hounds to show stray pride in our adopted/rescued dogs.
As we saw here, fashion designer John Bartlettrecently unleashed a collection of ultra-chic T-shirts that proclaim stray pride loud and clear, with the striking silhouette of John’s late, great tripod dog, Tiny Tim. Proceeds from shirt sales go to the Tiny TimRescue Fund.
Dogs speak volumes without saying a word – but there’s no reason they can’t make their ownloud-and-clear style statements.
Thanks to Up Country, makers of stylish ribbon collars, leads, and harnesses, there’s a snazzy”Adopted” collar (pictured above) that lets everyone know its wearer came from the best possible source: an animal shelter.
This hip, hot item isacharming mix of style and substance that’s designed to turn heads – and steer potential dog owners to their local animal shelter. So of course the O in “Adopted” is … a heart. Aw!
And here’s somereally wonderfulnews: The “Adopted” collar is Up Country’s top seller – which means that style-conscious dog lovers out there are showing some serious stray pride.
Besides being easy on the eyes, Up Country collars are made with care and attention to detail. They’re crafted of high-tensile strength nylon webbing with sewn-on polyester/nylon ribbons that resist staining and fraying, even after years of exposure to sun and moisture.
What’s more, the collar and lead hardware is made of cast brass as opposed to welded brass, so you have a better chance of avoiding a stressful malfunction (although if, like me, you’re a freak about safety, you’ll still consider using a carabiner clipjust in case). And the Quick-Release buckles Up Country uses are Coast Guard approved for high weight hold.
Like all other Up Country products, the collars, leads, and harnesses are proudly made in the U.S.A., at thecompany’s Rhode Island factory.
But here’s the best part: Up Country is a neighbor to the Rhode Island SPCA, and every dog who is adopted there gets to come over and pick out a new collar and lead. Talk about getting a new leash on life! Check out Up Country’s Facebook page to read happy adoption tails.
