Surf Dog Ricochet has been riding the waves and raising money for human and animal causes for three years. To celebrate her awwwmazing achievements, the hang-10 hound is embarking on a campaign to raise $250,000 for three charities as part of her Tidal Wave Challenge. If anyone can raise a quarter of a million dollars, it’s the dog who showed us that pups can paddle out with the best of us!

Ricochet hopes to have the $250,000 nailed down by Aug. 20, which marks her third anniversary. With $226,461 already in her charity bank, she’s almost there. If you visit Ricochet’s Tidal Wave Challenge page, you’ll see that she has her charities listed. One of her human causes is the Patrick Ivison Recovery Fund (Patrick suffered a spinal cord injury when he was hit by a car as a child. The fund will help him continue critical therapy as he goes to college.) Her animal causes include Pets for Patriots, which helps soldiers re-enter civilian life by pairing them with homeless pets.

Watch this video about how Ricochet and Patrick joining forces … and make sure to have some tissues ready. It’s heartwarming!
