Emma, a long-haired dachshund who had been wedged underground for 2 1/2 days after chasing a little critter into a hole about four feet below ground level, looks very grateful as she is held by one of her rescuers. It took a community rescue party to dig her out. Several neighbors, a backhoe, Rollies Rotor Rooter, chisels, underground camera cables, a jackhammer and plenty of persuasive dog treats did the trick, according to the Green Bay Press Gazette. Check out a few of the newspaper’s photos from this amazing rescue.
