While we totally raise our hackles and growl at the likes of giving away a puppy as a prize on Toddlers & Tiaras, we wag our tails for this adorable spoof of the show called Puppies & Tiaras by actress and filmmaker Jahnna Randall.
A parody of the cringe-inducing reality TV show, Puppies & Tiaras dives into the world of puppy pageantry, where the competition is ruff, but it’s the humans who are the real bitches. In this world of glitz and glamour, pooches are primped, pedicured, and pampered into pristine pups of perfection. But what happens when forbidden romance blossoms between two of the pageant’s top competitors? Hilarity ensues, of course, as the movie’s darlings — Gizmo and Lua — struggle to please their hearts while also pleasing their demanding humans.
The 19-minute short film is rife with cuteness and absurdity, and, unlike the show it pokes fun at, is totally tongue-in-cheek. You can watch the full movie here.
However, the movie’s star, Gizmo, is no stranger to the camera. He and his human, Jahnna, star in their own webseries called 2Fur1, which chronicles their journey together as Jahnna pursues her dreams of becoming an established Hollywood actress. All along the way, Gizmo is her steadfast supporter.
