Last week, the Sheraton Hotel in New York City was all aglitter with some of Hollywood’s brightest stars for the Friars Club Roast of comedic legend and pop culture icon Betty White.
Among the A-listers in attendance was Uggie the dog from the Oscar-winning filmThe Artist, but while the human celebrities took turns taking potshots at White, Uggie was pardoned from the roast. In fact, he made sure he got in some snuggle time with the nonagenarian star, thanks to his trainer, Omar von Muller.
Coupled with Betty White’s lifelong commitment to animal advocacy, it was a match made in heaven — or, at least, in Hollywood.
And while White is still going strong, Uggie is heading into retirement after a hectic year in which he catapulted to fame via his soft-paw shuffle in The Artist. We’re glad to see him out and about on the red carpet looking happy and healthy — it shines through in his doggie smile.
