Earlier today I posted a story on a retired military dog who needed a home. It turns out he is very well set with offers, and does not need any more. The story’s sources were well meaning, but there were some miscommunications at base level, it seems. I’ve pulled that story because they are being inundated, and asked for my help in stopping the flow.

As I mentioned in that story, there is a wonderful law in place that protects retired military working dogs from euthanasia except in cases of great aggression or terminal illness where an animal is suffering. Because of Robby’s Law, which has been around since 2000, most retired military dogs are easily adopted out, and there is a long waiting list of people who want these dogs.
