My dogs get a special treat on Valentine’s Day. Some years it’s a new toy, others a rare steak. When shopping for them online recently, I found 10 sweet Valentine’s Day gifts and wanted to share. Perhaps one would please your pup.
1. Parisian Gift Bucket from Harry Barker
This bucket filled with pink toys comes in small or large to suit the size of your four-legged family member, and you can personalize it so he or she knows the answer to the often-asked question, “Who’s a good dog?”
2. Custom Pet Portrait from ForeverSeptember
Artist Kaitlin Slattery will paint a lovely watercolor portrait of your pup. Since this is more of a “you” gift, pair it with another item on this list.
3. Forever Home Scented Candle from Sniff
Sniff makes scented candles with dogs in mind. This one combines clary sage, bergamot, jasmine, chamomile, neroli, and marjoram to create a soothing smell perfect for those adjusting to a new home. Additional scents, as well as aromatherapy sprays, also are available.
4. Sterling Silver and 14K Gold Dog Tag from Frontgate
For the pup who has everything, this tag qualifies as fine jewelry. It does prove functional, though, as you can engrave contact information on the back.
5. Hearts Argyle from Muttropolis
Adorable. Enough said.
6. Valentine’s Day Treat Trio from Shindig Dog
This combo-pack includes a bag each of Love Licks, three-inch patties made from USDA-inspected bison tongue and heart; Heartbarkers, USA-raised beef heart; and Love Birds, USA-raised, human-grade chicken and turkey breast fillets. Tasty and healthy!
7. Fugly Heart from Fugly Friends
If your dog gets past this silly toy’s triple stitching, he or she will find a second heart inside containing a secret message.
8. Heart-Shaped Dog Bowl from Henri Bendel
This bowl from the famous NYC store features the signature brown and white stripes of its shopping bags, plus a pop of red inside. It’s perfect for a four-legged fashionista.
9. Puppy Love Dog Collar from Harry Barker
The subtle design of this collar makes it perfect for every month of the year, not just February. Get it with the matching leash for the complete look.
10. Log Dog Bed from Pottery Barn
Another splurge, this handcrafted bed features Wisconsin-grown poplar, kiln-dried to remove excess moisture and dip-finished with a clear matte topcoat. It comes in small, medium, and large, with a dog bed insert and cover (sold separately), fitting perfectly inside.
Let’s hear from you, readers. Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day with your dogs? Share your memories or plans in the comments!
