A Bird of the Air is an upcoming sweet-yet-slightly-offbeat romantic comedy directed by Margaret Whitton that pairs Lyman (Jackson Hurst), a loner of a graveyard shift Courtesy Patrol worker, with Fiona (Rachel Nichols), a bubbly librarian who takes an interest in him. The two come together when a mysterious parrot with an intriguing vocabulary swoops into Lyman’s life and Fiona decides to help him find its owner.
The story is charming (go see it for yourself when it’s released on Sept. 23), but the real stars of the show are seven rescue animals (five dogs and two parrots), including a Basset Hound named George, who plays Floyd, Fiona’s beloved pup. In the film, George is seen in a handful of elaborate outfits concocted by costume designer Joseph G. Aulisi, and our pals at Paladin Films want to give our Dogster readers a chance to win one of them:
We’re told this fleece doggie jacket is an XL, and the badges were hand-sewn onto it.
To win George’s coat, along with a movie poster and talking parrot pen, simply send a high-resolution photo of your dog in his/her best outfit to dogsterpics@gmail.com. We’ll select our favorite photos and post them on Dogster on Wednesday, Sept. 21, and the folks behind A Bird of the Air will pick their favorite from there.
Here’s a little more about George: This Basset is 8 years old. He was purchased as a puppy by some folks who did not check with their landlord (gah) and were told to move out or get rid of him. That night he was found tied in front of a homeless shelter (for people). He was rescued from there and went on to act in ABC sitcom The Middle and now A Bird of the Air.
We’re looking forward to your photos, so get to it! 😉
