Zoom Room Is an Indoor Gym — For Dogs

Zoom Room is an indoor gym where pup parents can take their dogs to train, socialize or check out new toys, treats and training supplies.

I have an indoor gym to go to for different activities, so I thought it was pretty cool that dogs do, too — it’s called Zoom Room, and it’s a national indoor dog gym that got started in 2008. Take your dog there to socialize, get training or just to buy toys, treats and training supplies. One look at what Zoom Room has to offer, and your own tail starts wagging.

What inspired Zoom Room?

Zoom Room is an indoor gym for dogs.

“Zoom Room was created because there were no indoor facilities for owners to train directly with their dogs, especially in agility,” explains CEO Mark Van Wye. “Zoom Room provides a place for dog owners to come play, train and exercise with their dog and socialize with others doing the same. Zoom Room provides a curriculum that strengthens the bond between dog and owner unlike any other program.”

What can dogs do at Zoom Room?

Just like a human gym, the facility is climate controlled, plus it’s both ADA-compliant and eco-friendly. Dog owners must be with their dogs at all times, playing and learning right along with them.

Says Mark, “In addition to being experts in dog agility — which can be taught to any dog, no matter his size, age, breed or experience — Zoom Room also offers specialty classes including Shy Dog, Calm Down!, Pup-lates, Scent, Urban Herding, Therapy Dog, Flyball, Rally Obedience and more. All classes are offered in a welcoming, non-competitive environment.”

Training and Socialization at Zoom Room

Zoom Room uses only positive reinforcement-based training.

That all sounds great, but I had one more question: What is Zoom Room’s philosophy when it comes training and socialization? “Zoom Room trainers use only positive reinforcement-based training and strive to educate owners on the science and benefits of positive training,” Mark tells me. “Zoom Room believes in socializing puppies during their critical socialization window of 8 to 16 weeks of age and offers a safe, sanitized place to do so via its puppy classes. Zoom Room provides ongoing opportunities for socialization via off-leash playgroups, parties and other events designed to socialize the dogs and provide opportunities for owners to mingle with other like-minded folks as well.”

Love the Zoom Room concept? Well it’s a franchise, so there are franchise opportunities if you are interested. Check out the website at zoomroom.com. Follow Zoom Room on Facebook and Twitter at @ZoomRoom. For franchise information, go to zoomroom.com/franchise.
